Officers and Committee members were elected and a constitution was agreed.
The aim will be to research, record and preserve the history of Lewannick Parish and surroundings.
Much of this information will be of a virtual nature to be stored and presented on the groups website – www.lewannickhistory.co.uk in the form of document scans and photographs.
There followed a lively discussion about pre-historic sites, quarries and mines, farming, field layouts and field names, old farm buildings, Chapels, wells, family names, carnivals, Mayday, Lewannicks annual pantomime etc.
It seems there will be no shortage of interesting lines of enquiry!
