St Martin, the Parish Church of Lewannick and North Hill
Dear All
It is very sad news that owing to the coronavirus we have now had to close the doors of the church, even for prayer and worship. However this situation will not continue for ever and in time the church will be open as usual everyday for times of peace and quiet and personal prayer along with Sunday Services.
Meanwhile although our church doors are closed prayer and worship has and will not stop we are just doing it differently. Prayers are being said daily throughout the community for everyone, yes everyone in the parish with or without fail.
Myself and Robin sit together every morning at 9.30am to say the office of Morning Prayer together, if you have a Book of Common prayer or another service book you may wish to settle down at that time and join with us, although we are not together physically we can be spiritually.. During this time we pray for the country and the worldwide situation, but particularly for all the parishes for which I am responsible Lewannick and North Hill being one of them. Should you have a specific request for prayer please let myself(01566 770649), Vera Sandercock or Caroline Latham know and we will include your request in with our prayers.
If you are a social media user there are several ways you can join in with worship during this time. The diocese of Truro has its own Facebook page which contains several ideas and times of prayer also things of interest from the Diocese including regular updates, you can also find these
www.trurodiocese.org.uk also on https://www.churchofengland.org. there are many resources for personal prayer and service, along with information about Apps for your phone.
Also please do not forget that the radio has a Sunday service on Radio 4 at 8.10am.
The doors are closed but that does not mean that the church is closed, just different.
A prayer for all those affected by coronavirus
Keep us, good Lord,
under the shadow of your mercy.
Sustain and support the anxious,
be with those who care for the sick,
and lift up all who are brought low;
that we may find comfort
knowing that nothing can separate us from your love
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Amen.
The Blessings of God almighty and the love of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you and all those you love and don’t love now and forever more Amen.
